I had 4 corn tacos, and with the sauces being not super spicy yet so flavourful, it can appeal to everyone! It came with limes, onions, and cilantro and even some chopped radishes! It's very tasty and so worth giving a mega huge tip given the affordability! They are also considerate of those getting to go as the whole tray was wrapped in a plastic bag in the carry out bag. PLEASE support this cash-only business and give them a try. If only more parking was available, but what can you really do in this part of town? Only sub-5 rating I gave was the atmosphere, as you are subjected to the elements. (but more like 4.5/5!) I'll be back to give their chickens a try someday. Love how the grill is right there in the open so you know it's fresh! Best corn tacos I've had, hands-down.

What a great addition to the Mexicantown strip. The chorizo is the best I've had and was great on a taco. The interior is clean and modern and not over done. This is my favorite in the neighborhood now.

So happy to see El Rey back at it; loving the new location at former El zocalo on Bagley in Mexican town SW Detroit. The service is always excellent the staff is so friendly and the food is delicious, not to mention their prices are great!!! My personal favorite dishes are the whole chicken and the ribs however the quesobirria tacos and horchata are delicious also! While you’re there make sure you get a cocktail they are tasty! Definitely check them out you won’t be disappointed. They also were happy to seat a large group and I had no issues like some other restaurants adjacent to them. I dine in and also get take out as well.

I have been here a couple times and every single time I have had amazing food (typically steak tacos with cilantro, frijoles and rice). The atmosphere is nice and comfy and smells amazing, also it is in a nice small area in Mexican town so not a lot of people or traffic to deal with. Will come again in the future more, recommended 5/5 super yummy .

Can’t say enough good things about this place. Tasteful, affordable, staff is super kind and attentive. Get the whole smoked chicken dinner and green sauce you won’t regret it.

This place is delicious. Oh my God... This is a little slower pace than I would have liked for what didn’t seem like a very busy day but the village let me tell you .... amazing.

First time coming here and I was very pleased! Clean, fun atmosphere to enjoy your meal and the company of your friends and family. Loved that they had a glass garage door that opened so that you could enjoy the fresh air and sunlight while dining. Small menu, but the food was delicious. Our server was very friendly and was attentive to our needs. They also offer space to do Quincinerras or other celebrations.
